The E minor ninth chord (abbreviated Em9 chord) is a five-note chord consisting of the notes E, G, B, D, and F. The chord is formed by adding a major ninth to the E minor seventh chord.

In practice, the fifth (B) is sometimes omitted from the Em9 chord because it's not always possible to play all notes simultaneously.
