Musicca is a free music-learning platform used by people across the world. Musicca was founded in 2019 by Lasse Grubbe, Master of Arts in Musicology.
Music is essential to all individuals across the world. It plays an important role in the lives of people of all ages, both in and out of school, and for people of all ages. Music and music education is for everyone, regardless of socioeconomic status, and not just for those with the potential to become professional musicians.
Musicca is dedicated to transforming music education by making high-quality, data-driven learning materials freely accessible to students, educators, and musicians worldwide. Musicca makes learning fun and motivates others to reach their learning goals and enjoy the gift of music.
I’m Lasse Grubbe, founder of Musicca. I was born in Denmark in 1988 and grew up with a piano in my home. At age ten, I started piano lessons and I haven’t stopped playing since. I hold a Master of Arts in Musicology from the University of Copenhagen.
Musicca is based on the foundation of Musikipedia, a Danish music-learning platform. Launched in 2008, it has become the leading learning-platform for music education throughout Denmark.
A special thanks to Jesper Juellund Jensen, Aleksandar Acimovic, and Lars Juul Mikkelsen for their roles in creating the exercises; Serge Enin's help with creating the interactive tools, and Valeriy Kyzmenko for assisting in the development of this website.
